For as long as I can remember I have loved being involved, some may say hyper-involved, with my community. Growing up in Pickering that looked like editing for the school newspaper, playing flute (not very well) in the school band, and volunteering at my favourite place the Ontario Science Centre. In 2014 I moved to Vancouver to study Chemical Engineering at UBC, where I found my interests starting to fall into two buckets: sustainability and the arts. These side quests, which you can read about here, included starting an art magazine and rigging toaster ovens to recycle waste plastic.
After graduating in 2019 I continued to build both these themes into my daily life. Professionally I worked in Vancouver for several years in renewable energy as a chemical and project engineer before transitioning to climate consulting, and finally moving back to Toronto in late 2023 to join the public service in Ontario's Ministry of Energy in Mines. Outside of my 9-5 I enjoy spending time on advisory councils and boards to champion supports and new spaces for arts and culture in both Vancouver and Toronto.
When I'm not online there's a good chance you can find me at a dance studio or street festival hanging with friends.
